Lions Club of Mwanza Valentine Plant Trees ---- Protecting our Environment Campaign

Valentines received request from a high school located in Pasiansi area, Mwanza for some trees. They planted trees in the school premises and care taking is done by students. Students learn about trees, fruits and its importance by practically being and growing with it.

The Club donated around 25 plants which included Ashoka, papay, neem, rose, gauva and some other as per their requirement. Club appreciates efforts put by Lion Sheerin and Lion Wahida who coordinated with school for this activity.

DISTRICT OFFICERS FUSE YOUTH, WOMEN AND WOMEN MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AT A MAIDEN SEMINAR HELD IN JANGWANI SECONDARY SCHOOL

On 23rd April 2013, District Convenor for Youth Outreach, Camps and Exchange Programme Lion Zahira Patwa and her Chairperson Lion Shenaz Norey (TZ) as well as District Chairperson on Women Membership Development and Participation Lion Nimira Gangji fused their ideas to carry out a robust seminar at Jangwani School. The audience comprised of 150 Form V students and the topics were:

1. Hygiene
2. Nutrition
3. Who are Lions
4. Formation of Alpha Leo Clubs

Speakers were:

1. Ms. Husna Rajab, Environmental and Health Promotion Specialist from Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
2. Lion Rizwan Qadri, Region Chairperson for Region D

The students were well informed on the importance of personal hygiene and nutrition as well as on Lionism. Lion Zahira and Lion Nimira explained on their respective roles and importance of community services. They also explained on the need of training students to become good citizens of tomorrow. The Lions gave to the students sanitary pads, deodorant, powder, juice, cakes and snacks.

PMCC/PDG LION MAJID KHAN CONFIRMS FRATERNITY SUPPORT TO BRING 12TH MD CONVENTION TO DAR - 2015/2016

PMCC Lion Abdul Majid Khan won support for members from Dar fraternity to host the 12th MD Convention in the city of Dar es Salaam. "I am excited with your support and will stand tall to advise the Governors Council to be held in Nairobi that Dar Lions are ready to stage the Convention," said Lion Khan.
