On the 18th of October, 12 Lions and their spouses drove to the capital city, Dodoma. to commence their eye camp activity that was officially opened by the Regional medical officer on 19th October 2012.
During the advance screening held on World Sight Day the club had recorded 36 cataract
surgeries.
By 21st October, the club had accomplished 106 cataract surgeries, provided about 500
spectacles and various medicines for
different eye ailments.
Lion Dr Jafferji was
on his toes with the very tedious job of measuring the BP and sugar for all the
patients who were supposed to be operated.
The lion members celebrated Lion Ashok's birthday on the 20th in great style at the New Dodoma hotel by
singing and cutting the cake that was provided by the
hotel.
Lion C.T. Shah also
directed a local choir band to better their moves on the floor and won
accolades from all the people sitting in the audiences.
