ARUSHA CLUB LISTS OUT 6 MONTHS ACTIVITIES DURING DG VISIT. PROVIDES FOOD AT MERU ORPHANAGE

JULY 2012:- DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD STUFF AT THE ORPHANAGE CENTRE

Lions Club of Arusha distributed food stuff to the 48 children of Kibowa Orphanage Center in Arusha on 18^th July 2012. 11 members participated in the activity. Tshs. 485,000/= were the total cost of the activity.

AUGUST 2012:- EYE CAMP

Lions Club of Arusha held an Eye Camp in Karatu Township – Arusha Region on Sunday, 12^th August 2012. 312 patients were screened at the Eye Camp. 104 pairs of new eye glasses and Tshs. 274,000/= worth of medicines were distributed free of cost at the camp. 8 patients were recorded for the Cataract Surgery which was done later at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Arusha. Tshs. 1,824,000/= was the total cost of the Eye Camp including Surgeries. 13 lion members participated in the Eye Camp which took 7 hours.

OCTOBER 2012:- CHARITY WALK

Lions Club of Arusha held a 10km. Charity Walk in favour of Orphan Children and Road Safety on Sunday, 7^th October 2012 in Arusha. 24 lion members, 68 guests and 10 children from Kibowa Orphanage Center participated in the activity. Honorable District Commissioner Mr. Kasunga of Monduli area also participated and walked all the way to support lions to raise the funds. Appreciation Certificates were given to the participants. Tshs. 12,875,000/= were raised in the Charity Walk.

DECEMBER 2012:- CHRISTMAS PARTY TO 

THE ORPHAN CHILDREN.

Lions Club of Arusha hosted a Christmas Party to the orphan children from Kibowa Orphanage Center on Saturday, 22^nd December 2012 at Sikh Union Club. 45 children, 4 teachers, 7 guests and 15 lion members participated in the activity. Lunch and soft drinks were served to the children and participants. School bags, pencils, exercise books and colours were given to the children and gifts were also given to the teachers. There was arrangement of games and a small group of circus to entertain the children. Children were very happy and excited at the event. Tshs. 1,057,800/= was the total cost of the activity which went for 5 hours.

JANUARY 2013:- DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD STUFF AT THE MT. MERU HOSPITAL.

Lions Club of Arusha distributed food stuff at the Mt. Meru Hospital on Wednesday, 23^rd January 2013. 6 lions members participated in the activity. District Governor Lion Joseph Kiwanuka and the first lady of the district witnessed the activity. Tshs. 528,000/= was the total cost of the activity.
